March 2017 Update

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
Romans 8:14

Dear Praying Friends,

Happy March! St. Patrick’s Day is coming. It’s known for parades, green beer, and shamrocks. But what about St. Patrick himself? There are some misconceptions about this famous figure in Irish history. He wasn't the first evangelist to Ireland, and he wasn’t even Irish (Patrick was born in what we now call Scotland, then a part of Roman Britain). Though born in a Christian family, with his father even serving as a deacon, Patrick was not an active believer. But personal difficulty turned his heart to Jesus.

At 16 years old (about the year 405 AD), he was captured by Irish pirates in a raid on his town, and taken as a slave to Ireland. Far from home, he rediscovered his Christianity. Patrick was forced to tend his master's sheep, and spent his six years of bondage mainly in prayer. He eventually escaped and returned home. But a dream convinced him that God was calling him to return to the people who had held him captive to bring them the Gospel.

Patrick obeyed the call, and returned to Ireland. He made missionary journeys all over the island during his ministry, and it soon became known as one of Europe's Christian centers, even though 5th century Ireland was considered the "ends of the earth.”

Now it’s our turn to gladly be slaves for Christ who took on the bondage of our sin. Let’s cling to our faith, and pray for Luis, Andrew and the LPA team as they proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth! Please open the below reports for each region around our world and PRAY! God’s Word and His covenant to us is eternal and true. It’s so much better than just a mythical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” Luke 4:18-19
