September 2017 Update

"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7

Dear Praying Friends,

As we all know, this earth is groaning and fear is prevalent! Hurricanes and floods are hitting the Caribbean and the southeastern states. Fires are raging out west. North Korea is a real threat. And earthquakes have recently rocked Mexico and Japan!

We also have personal concerns and fears for ourselves, our loved ones, and our divided country. Who are we going to call on and cry out to? To our Almighty God, the Holy Spirit who resides in each one of us with His power, His strength, and His grace which is sufficient!!! How? Through prayer!

Prayer can calm an anxious mind and fill our hearts with peace. When we’re anxious we can present our requests to God. It’s a truth to transform our fearful minds to peace.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let you requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (1 Philippians 4:6-7).

Faith is also essential. I experience a crisis of faith when my words and my attitude get out of line. I tell myself as I pray that I’m seeking His will, but am I complaining and afraid?

“Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believe that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:22-24).

He wants us to cry out to Him, to give Him our requests without fear.

We can be confident in knowing He hears us because His Word is truth! He gives us 365 “fear nots” in His Word; one for every day of the year.

“I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears" (2 Kings 20:5).

Read Psalm 91 today and be blessed. He is faithful to be our refuge and our strength to hear and to answer us. Corrie ten Boom used to say, “When the train goes through a tunnel and the world gets dark, do you jump out? Of course not. You sit still and trust the engineer to get you through.”

Trust and center your heart on Him. Do you know what verse is the center of the Bible? “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man” (Psalm 118:5).

Trust Him to guide you, protect you and guard your heart and mind through Christ. “Do not fear anything except the Lord Almighty. He alone is the Holy One. If you fear Him, you need for nothing else. He will keep you safe” (Isaiah 8: 13-14a).

Let us trust Him in prayer: Together, Asking, Seeking, Knocking. We can pray without fear for our communities, our nation and our world in all circumstances in how He is at work in us and in the Palau ministry. Luis, Andrew, and our Palau team are hard at work in our nation and around the world showering the love of Jesus through preaching the Gospel truth! Below are our current praise and prayer requests. Thank YOU for praying for them in the name of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Kneeling in the Gap with YOU in Peace,

Gail Stockamp

August 2017 Update

"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." 1 Thess. 5:18

Dear Praying Friends,

Life is full of ups and downs for all of us, isn’t it? Last August our family was at it’s peak, welcoming a new son into our family when our daughter got married. This August we’re in a valley as we received the news that my brother-in-law has brain cancer and my mom is now recovering from a compressed fracture in her back!

Life gives us peaks and valleys, and through it all He asks us to thank Him in ALL circumstances! He not only asks us, but it’s His will for us! In fact, He wants us to thank Him BEFORE the event takes place, whether it be a blessing or a battle!

Praise is the vital preparation for spiritual power that teams up with the power of our prayers! God is pleased when praise is a part of our prayer life and we are blessed as we pray in thanksgiving for all things. Shadows and darkness disappear and light fills our heart and soul when we give thanks! It works. Try it. It’s His will for us!

“It is good to praise the Lord" (Psalm 92:1).

Let us “TASK” in prayer: Together, Asking, Seeking, Knocking. Let us thank Him in all circumstances in how He is at work in the Palau ministry. Below are our current praise and prayer requests. Thank YOU for using your Holy Spirit power in praying for the work LPA is doing around the world!

Praising Jesus in prayer with YOU,

Gail Stockamp

July 2017 Update

"My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
Psalm 57:7

Dear Praying Friends,

Our family recently returned from vacation to Nashville, TN - the heart and home of country music. We had a delightful time being together, enjoying the sounds of the south and the music that originated there. We also enjoyed worshipping and singing together in the “Bible Belt!” It got me thinking about how our prayers are like music to our Lord originating from our hearts.

Where would we be if God did not have “ears” to hear us? What would life be like if He did not hear us when we called out to Him?

God made the ear of man to hear His Word. God has an ear to hear our prayers to Him as well. In fact, the Scriptures are full of promises that the Lord will not only hear our prayers and answer them, but He will speak clearly to us as well. Here is a sampling:

  • Isaiah 65:24 | “Before they even call out I will respond; while they are still speaking I will hear."
  • Psalm 4:3 | “Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to Him.”
  • Psalm 10:17 |  “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.”
  • Psalm 17:1 | “Hear, O Lord, my righteous plea; listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer."
  • Psalm 54:2 | “Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.”
  • Psalm 94:9 | “Does the one who makes the human ear not hear?”
  • Psalm 143:1 | “O Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy."
  • Matthew 17:5 | “This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

We can sing and praise God because He does desire to hear our thoughts - our praise to Him, our repentant and thankful hearts, as well as our petitions. We can be confident that God will hear our prayers when we pray them for his glory! Let us “TASK” in prayer: Together, Asking, Seeking, Knocking.

Below are the current praise and prayer requests for our Palau team. Thanks for praying for them as they proclaim Jesus worldwide.

June 2017 Update

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:19

Dear Praying Friends,

All of us have keys, right? Keys to lock up our valuables to keep them safe. Keys to secure our home, our car – allowing us permission to enter vehicles, properties, and dwellings.

I recently read in Isaiah 22:20-24 where Eliakim was King David’s palace administrator and as such he wore the key to the house of David around his shoulder. This key symbolized his power and authority. He was the only person in the palace who had access to every room. There was no door he could not shut and there was no door he could not open.

Jesus now holds the key of David which represents Christ’s authority to open the door of salvation into His future kingdom (Revelation 3:7-8). However, we too have the keys of the kingdom of heaven so that we can advance the Kingdom of God (Matthew 16:19). Now we don’t get to decide to open or close the kingdom of heaven for others, but God uses us to help others find the way inside. One of the keys he gives us is PRAYER!

Prayer is a powerful key and God is willing to intervene on our behalf when we ask Him. The Bible says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

Regardless of the challenges, prayer is the key that opens the door to God’s solutions for every need or problem. Our Lord’s ability to help is just as powerful today as it was 2000 years ago. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

So let us boldly knock on heaven’s door and call upon the Lord in faith. Prayer is, and always will remain, the key that opens the door to God’s help and blessing!

Will you pray with me, and even pound on heaven’s door, for the work of the Palau ministry as they advance God’s kingdom in sharing the Gospel? Let's use the key of prayer to unlock places that the enemy doesn’t want us or LPA to enter!

Unlocking Doors with You in Prayer,

Gail Stockamp

May 2017 Update

“Lord, teach us to pray….So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Luke 11:1, 9

Dear Praying Friends,

May 4th was National Day of Prayer. Our National Women’s Prayer Team regional leaders came together that day from around the country to meet and pray together, live and in person at the Luis Palau Association headquarters in Portland, Oregon.  We were a TASK force (Together, Asking, Seeking, Knocking) for His will to be done in and through the Palau team.

In Luke 11, Jesus himself taught His disciples to pray.  Those lessons are for us as well, for we are also his disciples.

Why did Jesus pray?

  1. To be an example for us.
  2. In His human nature, it’s a natural thing to do.
  3. As part of the Trinity, it is a way to communicate between themselves.

Jesus prayed for others (intercessory), and with others.  He prayed alone, in nature, regularly, as a sprinter and as a marathoner.

His prayers were heartfelt, in knowledge of God and the Scriptures.  His prayers were persistent and full of expectation, looking to the will of His Father, not His own.

We are called to pray in the same manner.  Let us be his TASK force . . . together, asking, seeking, knocking . . . for His will and in His perfect timing.

Asking Seeking, Knocking with you,

Gail Stockamp

April 2017 Update

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
Luke 22:42

Dear Praying Friends,

As we prepare for Easter this Sunday, I can’t help but think of the “what ifs.”

What if Jesus in His humanity had denied His Father and chosen a different path? What if He decided He didn’t want to go to the cross?

During this journey with Jesus this holy week to the cross, may we keep in mind as followers of Christ that He followed His Father’s will and went to Him in suffering and in prayer.

The gospels give us different perspectives on Jesus’ time praying in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before He was betrayed. We know from Matthew 26, Mark 14, and Luke 22 of His agony as He was sorrowful and troubled; and He asked His disciples to keep watch with Him. Three times He went and prayed. And each time they fell asleep!

One of my favorite passages in Scripture is John 17 where we get a deeper insight into Jesus’ prayers that night. He not only prays for Himself, but also for His disciples, as well as for future believers… that’s us. He even prays for those who don’t yet know Him!

As He is one with the Father, He wants to be one with us. Let’s not be asleep, but keep watch, and keep praying!

Luis and the Palau team want to proclaim Jesus’ words from John 17:26 – “I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that myself may be in them.”

Let’s stay awake. Let’s watch and pray with the Palau team for His future believers! He defeated death and the devil. He won! That’s what we celebrate this weekend. Hallelujah!

Rejoicing in prayer,
Gail Stockamp

  • Fresno, CA | Churches united in tremendous ways. Through more than 50 various events over a 6 month time period, 45,000 individuals (from prisoners to business leaders and all walks of life) heard the Good News and were encouraged by God’s Word! Overall, more than 3,000 people made public confessions of faith in Jesus as a result of the campaign!

  • Guatemala | Before the festival in Guatemala last month, a fire broke out at a shelter for young girls, killing 40 children. Pray that what satan means for harm, God will use for good and literally take the ashes and make something beautiful from the pain of this tragedy.
  • Nepal | Please pray for the collaborative campaign coming up this week (April 16th)
  • Portland, OR | Pray for the ongoing City Gospel Movement taking place in Portland, that it would not only continue to bless the city, but also be used to inspire other cities to go and do likewise. As part of that vision, the Palau team is excited to host a Portland Tour, May 8-9, for leaders from around the nation to come and learn about what God is doing in Portland.
  • Colombia | Local leaders have felt a clear calling from the Lord to delay the major festival in Bogota until Fall of 2018. Although we were excited to be with the local leaders this year, we are trusting the Lord’s timing in this effort.

March 2017 Update

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
Romans 8:14

Dear Praying Friends,

Happy March! St. Patrick’s Day is coming. It’s known for parades, green beer, and shamrocks. But what about St. Patrick himself? There are some misconceptions about this famous figure in Irish history. He wasn't the first evangelist to Ireland, and he wasn’t even Irish (Patrick was born in what we now call Scotland, then a part of Roman Britain). Though born in a Christian family, with his father even serving as a deacon, Patrick was not an active believer. But personal difficulty turned his heart to Jesus.

At 16 years old (about the year 405 AD), he was captured by Irish pirates in a raid on his town, and taken as a slave to Ireland. Far from home, he rediscovered his Christianity. Patrick was forced to tend his master's sheep, and spent his six years of bondage mainly in prayer. He eventually escaped and returned home. But a dream convinced him that God was calling him to return to the people who had held him captive to bring them the Gospel.

Patrick obeyed the call, and returned to Ireland. He made missionary journeys all over the island during his ministry, and it soon became known as one of Europe's Christian centers, even though 5th century Ireland was considered the "ends of the earth.”

Now it’s our turn to gladly be slaves for Christ who took on the bondage of our sin. Let’s cling to our faith, and pray for Luis, Andrew and the LPA team as they proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth! Please open the below reports for each region around our world and PRAY! God’s Word and His covenant to us is eternal and true. It’s so much better than just a mythical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” Luke 4:18-19

February 2017 Update

“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:13

Dear Praying Friends,

Happy Valentine’s Day!  It’s the time of year to buy chocolates, flowers, and cards to share with our loved ones. But what about the ones in our lives who aren’t so lovable? What about Jesus’ command in Mark 12:30-31 when He tells us to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” and to “love your neighbor as yourself”?

As Jesus tells us, “There is no commandment greater than these.”

Ouch, WOW! That’s hard! I want to – and try to – show my love to God, but honestly, I have some unlovable “neighbors.” How about you? How can we do that when it goes against our human nature? Two ways come to my mind:

1) Remember and imitate our Heavenly Father: "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

2) Prayer!  Pray for the unlovables in our lives. Matthew 5:44 reminds us of Jesus’ words, "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Once again, prayer is key!

As you pray for your loved ones, and your enemies, will you also pray for Luis, Andrew, Kevin and the LPA ministry team as they proclaim the Good News to our lovable and unlovable lost “neighbors?”

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

January 2017 Update

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here."  2 Corinthians 5:17

Dear Praying Friends,

2016 is now behind us. For better or worse, it’s history, and the New Year is here! Through repentance, our old self is gone and He sees us anew!

Daily, Christ is strengthening and renewing us as His people, by our faith and not by our sight. It's stepping out and serving God through Christ by the Spirit, through His grace, to receive and embrace His righteousness. That’s when our love and appreciation for Jesus kicks in, and we come to Him in prayer and thanksgiving!

Let’s come before Him in prayer for Luis, Andrew and the LPA team as they spread the Gospel news to give the world a chance to be a part of His new creation too!

Praise

Our LPA staff just completed a productive half-day retreat. We praise God as they seek His wisdom in their plans, direction and vision for the future.

"You who serve God, praise God! Just to speak His name is praise. Just to remember God is a blessing now and tomorrow and always. From east to west, from dawn to dusk, keep lifting all your praises to God."  Psalm 113:1-3 (MSG)

December Update

"Then Jesus said, 'Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?'… Jesus looked up and said, 'Father, I thank you that you have heard me.'” John 11:40-41

Dear Prayer Warriors,

It’s the Christmas season! A time to celebrate Jesus’ birthday, when God’s glory is in full display! But there are times when we don’t see it. In the above verse, Mary and Martha had just lost their brother, Lazerus, in death. They were full of despair, fear, and perhaps even unbelief! That can be us too.

Some of our own prayer leaders are suffering the sting of death and pain. Janet's husband, Cesar, and Glenda’s sister, Gail, recently passed away. Sheri’s father-in-law, Daniel, is in hospice. We don’t have to look far for hurt and pain. Perhaps you feel it too - for someone you love, maybe even for yourself. Take heart… our verse says, “if you believe!” And we do, don’t we?

We believe God loves us so much He sent His own Son as a baby into this fallen world to die and conquer death! Like Jesus, we can thank Him as He hears and answers our prayers! Then we’ll see His glory!

There’s lots of glory to be seen. Don’t miss it! His hand is using us! His hand is using the Palau ministry, and He’s revealing His glory! He is hearing and answering our prayers! Check it out in our Praise Report, Prayer Requests, and Regional Reports below!

PRAISE

Fresno Re:New Gathering l Thousands of believers gathered in Fresno with Luis and Francis Chan (Nov 17) for a night of encouragement, worship, and prayer. In the days surrounding, several events were held for pastors, youth leaders, Hispanic leaders, and business leaders.

Campana and Zarate, Argentina l Andrew and Wendy loved on the people there: 2 Women’s Tea’s over 550 attending with almost 200 committing their lives to Christ; 275 at the Businessmen’s event with almost 50 decisions for Jesus.  And two amazing festival days with thousands in attendance and hundreds of decisions for Christ. To God be the Glory! While Andrew preached to the multitudes, Luis met with the president of the nation as well as the National Congress.

Chaco, Paraguay l Luis continued on to Paraguay after the events in Argentina, meeting with the president as well as holding several evangelistic gatherings. His time culminated with a 2-day festival in the city of Filadelfia. Although the weather was menacing, rains and storms never materialized. Through all combined events, many thousand heard the Good News and thousands of individuals indicated public decisions for Christ. The 2-day festival also aired nationally on multiple television and radio networks. To God be the Glory!

Beijing and Harbin China l Andrew and the team are just returning from their weekend there, packed with people wanting to hear the gospel, even an unexpected youth night! Andrew preached at several events - every one to packed out crowds. They happily distributed 10,000 “What is Christmas” books in Mandarin as well!

November Update

“Let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 1 Thess. 5:8

Dear Praying Friends,

Our Almighty God is our Help in ages past, and our Hope for years to come!  He is the ultimate Ruler and Authority of the world.  We come before Him in prayer for our government, and our nation.   As our country just had a major election and a change in national power, we pray for all those in authority.  We ask for prayers for Luis, Andrew, Kevin and our Palau ministry team.  Give them all, and us,  wisdom and understanding, with love for righteousness and peace, full of grace and favor.

What is Hope?  The blossom of happiness.  What is Eternity?  The lifetime of God.  What is gratitude? The memory of the heart.  (Author unknown)  Praising God with you in gratitude as we celebrate our country on Thanksgiving Day!  We thank God for Luis, Andrew and the LPA team giving sacrificially as they travel to South America over our Thanksgiving holiday to share the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ in seeking and saving the lost.

Praise

Athena OR | In mid-October, Luis had an amazing festival in rural Athena, OR.  It was kicked off by a pastor’s conference where Luis encouraged 102 local pastors and their spouses, and a festival where 600 people showed up full of energy! They were led into the presence of God in a time of celebration and worship with Luis preaching the Good News like he was preaching at Central Park, with passion and expectancy. Throughout the day more than 40 people responded to the gospel.

Rhode Island and New York City l In mid-October, Luis preached to more than 1000 pastors and lay leaders from across the state of Rhode Island, challenging them to "dream great dreams" for the sake of the Gospel!  Later in the week he gave the closing message at “Movement Day” in NYC to 1000’s of christian leaders from around the nation and our world!

Fresno CA l Youth Rally October 26th! The Movement is something a few youth pastors in Fresno began a few years ago as an evangelistic tool.  The first year they had about 400.  Last year they had 600.  This year they asked if Fresno City Fest could partner with them and help amp up the proclamation and reach more kids.  The local youth pastors felt like maybe 1000-1500 could attend.  Everyone was blown away when  3,600+ high school aged kids showed up!  There were kids EVERYWHERE!  Almost 1,000 had to be sent to an overflow.  When Andrew gave the invitation we had to steer them outside because there was literally no room for people to come forward.  It was a beautiful sight as circles of students gathered to be counseled and prayed with.

October Update

Praying with Purpose

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Ephesians 6:18

Dear Praying Friends,

I love God’s Word, and I’m confident you do too! It’s our road map for living! It’s how we can relate to our Sovereign God and talk to Him! In Philippians 1:9-11, Paul shares a prayer that lays out 4 ways we can pray for others:

1) By abounding in love: A love for others based on growing in Christ’s love for us.

2) By discerning what is best: To make wise choices.

3) By being pure and blameless: To do the right thing.

4) By being filled with the fruit of righteousness: To live for the glory and praise of God.

May Paul’s prayer be your prayer as you bring your requests for the Palau ministry and others up to Jesus. Be sure to open the detailed regional prayers reports…. the Caribbean report has specific prayers for Haiti and Hurricane Matthew. Check out the follow up in Malawi, and lots of exciting activity in South America too!

September Update

Jesus, Our Intercessor!

I am the way, the truth and the life; no one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Isn’t it wonderful to know that as sinful human beings, we have the humble right to come before our Holy and Almighty God as our Friend and heavenly Father because of Jesus’ intercession for us! His death on the cross for us is a finished work, yet not all of Christ’s work is finished because he continues to make intercession for us in heaven. Jesus Christ is able to be our go-between who can speak to God on our behalf. We can then “draw near to God through him, because he always lives to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7:25). We can thank Him for many blessings, ask Him for help and support, and to support us on every leaning side! Let us lean on Him as He intercedes on our behalf for the Palau team!

Praise

Malawi | The “Love Malawi Festival” Aug 20-21 did an amazing work of God by reaching thousands with the Gospel in the prisons, eye glass clinics, refugee camps and dinners with women and business leaders. Andrew Palau shared a message of hope, unity and love in God’s Word, sharing Jeremiah 29:7 “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” John Andrus has put together a great overview and video report of the work in Malawi.

August Update

Basking in Love

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 1 John 4:11-12 NLT

Dear Praying Friends,

Summertime is the season of weddings and love is certainly in the air! Our Palau CEO Kevin (and Michelle) Palau’s son Daniel was just recently married to Laney on August 6th; which also was Luis and Pat Palau’s 55th wedding anniversary! Our own daughter Lindsey is getting married in less than 2 weeks! Love, commitment, celebrations and festivities abound! Each of us can take this joy personally as we commit ourselves to Jesus as our bridegroom and bask in His love for us, as well as pass His love on to others by sharing the Good News. It’s a prayer we can pray as Andrew and the Palau team leave for Malawi, Africa this week to share Jesus' love at the Love Malawi Festival!

Praise

Jamaica |  It was the “Fun in the Son" 14th consecutive year in sharing the Good News in Jamaica! What a blessing as thousands heard the Gospel through multiple venues: in prisons, sports camps, health clinics, schools, orphanages, and a women’s tea . . . all in addition to the festival itself. Tens of thousands came, heard Jesus’ love and message proclaimed, and many lives were changed forever!

Washington, D.C. |  "Together 2016" took place on July 16th at the National Mall. More than 100,000 came from all over the country to worship, celebrate and share Jesus’ love!

Pray

Malawi | The Love Malawi Festival is NOW through August 21st! Andrew and the Palau team, along with more than 20 volunteers, are on their way to love the people there and share the Good News. The nationwide campaign is launched! It will involve more than 3 weeks of evangelism and outreach, with Andrew and several partner evangelists. Publicity is already up all over the nation. Pray for great awareness, large crowds, and thousands of changed lives. And, pray for the safety of everyone involved.

Here is the general schedule of events:

  • August 12-14: Blantyre Festival with Richard Hamlet
  • August 12-14: Dzaleka Refugee Camp with Alan Greene and Andrew Palau
  • August 12-14: Zomba Festival with Reid Saunders
  • August 15-21: Lilongwe Festival with Andrew Palau

Other prayer items and outreaches:

  • Luis will speak at Southwest Bible Church in the Portland area (August 14)
  • Luis will also be speaking at a major evangelistic rally and pastors conference in New Jersey (August 19-20)
  • Andrew is holding an outreach in Culver, Oregon (August 28)
  • Luis and Andrew will both be speaking at national conference for Spanish-speaking evangelists in New York City (Sept 9-10)
  • Please pray for plans as they are finalized for Luis’ involvement in a major outreach in Tegucigalpa, Honduras (September 24-25)
  • · Pray for ongoing plans for Fresno CityFest (festival set for March 2017)

July 2016

Seize the Light

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

Dear Praying Friends,

We all know the saying “Seize the Day!” In these days where there’s so much darkness, let’s seize the light of Jesus which has victory over all darkness, despair and death. How? Through proclaiming the gospel, and IN PRAYER! Many of us are numb from all the recent violence in our nation (as well as darkness globally). The answer in how we think and feel is through the mind of Christ and in the miracle of the opening of the human heart to the truth of the Gospel. That’s what the Palau team does so well (and with the Holy Spirit, we can too) as we let our light for Jesus shine!

Praise

Idaho! Andrew, Palau team and the Lord have been sharing the light of Jesus and knocking on the hearts of Idaho this last month (June) speaking with community leaders there, going into the prison, making radio broadcasts and a Festival with hundreds making decisions to step into the light of faith in Jesus.

Pray

Jamaica! Festival week is now… July 10-16! This is the 14th consecutive year that Andrew has joined with believers in the region to hold a city-wide evangelistic festival including Cityserve efforts, discipleship training for believers, the first women’s tea for the Fun in the Son Festival on July 13, and more! And of course, the festival on July 16th reaching tens of thousands with the light of the Gospel and “Fun in the Son!" Open the Jamaica Report below for more details.

Washington, DC! “Together 2016” is this Saturday, July 16th! Pray that hundreds of thousands of people come to the National Mall to hear NGA Evangelist Nick Hall, along with many other speakers and musicians, proclaim the Gospel! Learn more at www.reset2016.com.

June Update

The Amazing Race

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2a

Dear Praying Friends,

Our son is a runner. He loves the outdoors, persevering hills and weather, deeply breathing the air in and out, even racing/running with others. He loves the way it makes him feel free, and the sense of accomplishment and victory when he’s done.

If you’re not a runner, you can still relate to this feeling as we pray! Hebrews 12:1 points out that we have “a cloud of witnesses surrounding us;" we’re not alone and we appreciate YOU joining with us, persevering in prayer for the “race” the Palau ministry is enduring. We can also "lay aside every encumbrance” as we freely ask the Lord for anything. In prayer He is the air we breathe as we have the Holy Spirit’s presence running in and through us. Lastly, we can “fix our eyes on Jesus”, who we place our faith in as our ultimate encourager, victor and prize!

Special Prayer Request: Let’s begin by asking for the Lord’s mercy and grace over Orlando, for the families and loved ones who are hurting over their loss from this senseless shooting this past week. May they draw close to Jesus and not turn away from Him, realizing we live in a fallen world which is temporary, and experience His peace, presence and love in their lives for an eternity.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:4

Upcoming Events: Please persevere in prayer for the Palau team, who are running a race this summer full of many evangelistic events and gatherings:

June 18-19 | Lakeview, Oregon Outreach (Andrew)
June 29 | God & Country Festival in Nampa, Idaho (Andrew)
July 10-16 | Fun in the Son Festival in Jamaica (Andrew)
July 15-16 | Connect Conference in Washington, D.C. (NGA Team)
July 23-28 | Full week of teaching at Cannon Beach Conference Grounds (Luis)
August 14-21 | Love Malawi Festival (Andrew)
August 18-20 | New Jersey Outreach (Luis)

New addition to our team: Praise God with us as we welcome our newest prayer leader, Janet Cabascango, who is joining Sheri Lozano for South America. Janet is a long time Palau supporter and prayer warrior, who is also fluent in Spanish and is already such a blessing to us!

May 2016 Update

Thy Will Be Done

Hi Praying Friends,

And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:27

The Lord loves to hear our prayers, and we know there’s power in them when we pray in Jesus’ name. We also want to be sure we pray according to His will. I read a story about 2 monks who both planted olive trees. After planting them they both prayed to God for his help in growing them to produce olive oil. The first monk prayed to the Lord for rain so its roots would grow, sun to nurture it, and frost to strengthen its branches. The Lord answered and provided all the Monk’s requests and the little tree died. The second monk entrusted his tree to God who made it and who knew what it needed, giving God no constraints or conditions other than praying to send the tree what it needed, and it thrived! May we pray in God’s will, trusting for His provision in all that the Palau ministry and the work of His people need to grow and thrive!

Pray for Luis as he does English/Spanish radio recordings. Luis will also be traveling to the Midwest as well as California for banquets and graduation/keynote speaking engagements. Praise God Andrew and the team had successful meetings in Africa last month and is now preparing for the Jamaica Festival in July, and Malawi Africa in August. Check out the details in the reports below!

As Jesus taught us to pray, not my will but "your will be done, on earth as as it is in heaven” Matthew 6:10. We praise Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. We ask for His intercession now as we seek His will by praying over the following pray request reports:

April 2016 Update

A Staggering Event

Hi Praying Friends,

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

In light of us recently celebrating Easter, it’s awesome to know JESUS IS ALIVE, HE CONQUERED THE GRAVE! Luis’ Easter message at a church in southern California shared this very thing, and because Jesus rose, In Him we are a new creation! Transformed lives!! He reported that we’re no longer lost but found, not blind but can see, not slaves but free, and the list goes on. The one he liked and I appreciated was that we're not on our own but that GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS! That’s staggering!

Keep praying friends, and thank you for praying for Luis and the team as they minister around the world to transform lives for eternity in Jesus! God’s heart, and the Palau’s heart is for the nations. Luis recently spent a week on radio/TV broadcasts for Continente 2016 answering questions one on one, and sharing the gospel! Check it out in the Central/South American report below. Be sure to pray over our other reports too as Andrew will be having festivals in Jamaica in July and Africa in August, as well as other events world wide!

Please pray over the details by opening the below reports, printing copies of those reports (if it helps you, it helps me) and praying regularly for them. By regularly, I challenge us to pray for them daily. A friend recently shared that she prays for our nation every day at noon. Would you consider praying every day, at 2:10pm, for Phil. 2:10-11 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Set your phone alarm as a reminder at 2:10 (or whatever time works best for you) and pray with me and our regional prayer leaders:

March 2016 Update

Hi Praying Friends,

Earlier this month, I was blessed to be at a conference with Andrew Palau. He shared from Luke 5:1-17 when Jesus said to Peter: “Put out into the deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” The lesson for us: Not to be afraid of the catch, for men to know Jesus. This calling is critical to the Palau ministry, as well as to us! We’re telling people to be prepared to meet Jesus, for transformed hearts and minds, and realizing who Jesus is. Peter is obedient to follow Jesus, and we can be too! How? By our prayers, living a life of integrity, growing and walking in the things of God. It’s His calling for purpose and joy in our lives. It’s the reason the Palau team goes out into the world. It’s God calling!

Praise God with us in calling Kheri Schaar to co-lead with Gita in our prayers for Africa. Welcome Kheri! Continue to ask God to bring us a co-leader to Sheri for South America.

The Palau team has been called and we are called as well to be Fishers of Men! Ladies, let’s go fishing…. open the below reports by region! Plead with Him for His people of the world to come and be “caught" by Him!
