FAITHFUL INTO THE FUTURE
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past! See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18-19).
Happy New Year!
Our son has a birthday in January and as much as he loves the celebration, he’s not a fan of the time of year. It can be depressing. It’s dark and cold (very rainy here in the Pacific Northwest), New Year’s resolutions are already being broken, and bills from Christmas shopping are piling up.
However, this is stress from a worldly perspective!
Despite stresses, we can always wake up each morning and say “Good morning Holy Spirit!” It’s a new day and there’s joy and hope in every day – and every New Year – because of Jesus!
We are blessed to view life and a New Year with the knowledge that we are children and heirs of the King. We have GRACE (God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense), giving us peace that surpasses all understanding.
I want to share a few verses from the Bible to help us frame the coming year from a positive, hopeful, and God-focused perspective:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).
“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what He has done” (1 Chronicles 16:8).
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him” (Lamentations 3:22-24).
“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
As we begin a New Year, thank God with me for His faithfulness in the past as well as His fresh hope in the future. God is making a way through this fallen world and He has amazing plans in store for each of us!

PRAYER & PRAISE
Pray for continued and complete healing of Luis’ lung cancer.
Pray for God to be glorified in the upcoming Palau movie to be released in April and that it will inspire churches to make evangelism a priority.
Pray for the festival in West Africa next month, and the many other evangelistic opportunities in 2019.
Pray over the movements in Tyler, Texas; Brevard County, Florida; Swansea, Wales; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Boise, Idaho; and New England.
Praise God for His healing power on Luis, allowing him to continue sharing the Good News!
